I don't know about the CSP but the older coin scanner I had the ground balance control behind the the plug also had a small,small switch that(I Think) was under that pot.The switch alowed the ground pot to work in the discriminate mode or just the all metal mode.In other words the ground balance would stay at pre-set no matter where you set the ground pot but if the switch was set the other way the ground balance worked in both modes.
