George,
It's tough being an entrepreneur these days. Especially when you are a small company surrounded by big ones. Troy isn't any different than similar small business people. It was once described to me as the closest thing a man can experience to childbirth. It's only natural to be protective and try to nurture the product you bought into the world as much as possible. Parents who ever watched their kid get picked on or laughed at will understand. You know your product has to stand on it's own but you can't help but get defensive at times.
I've been a small businessman my entire life and know the feeling well. Ask any mom and pop store struggling to stay afloat in the shadow of Walmart. Picture yourself there each and every day trying to offer a better product and better service. Then imagine some smartass customer saying Walmart's prices are a dollar less. It happens each and every day. I wish everybody in the US could own and operate their own small business. You invest your heart and soul as well as your money and time. It's so easy for people who never took the plunge to be critical and mocking.
Some people like Troy and some don't but that's the way it is with each of us. Nobody's perfect. Thank God there are dreamers and doers out there willing to follow their star. Take them away and you end up with North Korea.
Sorry for the rant. No harm intended, just want to point out a few things that are easy to overlook.
HH,
Carl
