Nautually I can't remember the depth, etc. but it was an early 4 filter that had to be whipped to get depth. What that was is a very fast motion but it would work in minerized ground from what I understand and work smooth on the beach even in the wet salt. I am sure depth was somewhat limited, maybe 4-5 inches on a coin but a quaility built machine from one of my favorite companies. Maybe someone like Paul from CA will give more insight since I have not had one for over 20+ years.
