Well, I have the Bigfoot now on my V3 and so far here's how it's going.
A very thin 18k gold chain (links 1/32x1/16 and thin 1/4 loop at one end and slightly thicker 1/4 clasp at the other).
In "coin and jewelry" and "salt beach mode" I get nothing.
In "hi pro" and "mixed Pro" I get about 1" in air.
In "prospecting" I get about 1.5".
When the chain is placed on the ground, only the prospecting mode picks it up. The problem is that I'm not sure I can actually use the prospecting mode at the beach and my "pistol probe" PI pinpointer won't pick up the chain at all.
The standard coil is no better than the Bigfoot. I know that this is a really tough target, the little mount which holds the stone is about 3/8" and has a sort of ring as part of it. It sounds off just fine 2-3" So far it's not looking good for thin chains.
