About beach grooming. I wondered about that - given my initial surprise at how relatively few targets I was finding overall on the dry sand. I was out one Friday morning however and detected areas which had clearly just been groomed and didn't have any footprints yet. I found about as many targets there as anywhere else on the dry sand. Corona tops (seems to be the brew of choice for illegal drinking at the beach), pull tabs (the retangular "break off" kind) and foil. My conclusion is that smaller items are redeposited or missed by the grooming equipment.
Earrings are nice - especially when they have diamonds. I've got a nice stereo microscope (a $50 Craigslist coup) and I could get into "found gemnology".
The UPS man should see me today. If the machine works, I hope to hit the beach by mid-week.
Oh yes, one more thing. Susan - we may have a funny hobby, but we're not complete rubes. Take your Nigerian scam somewhere else!!!
