I never used the Target select feature since I was a relic hunter but my fondest memories of detecting were with this machine. I think I only quit using it when I was getting Tennis elbow. Even relic hunting I found more coins with the Mark one than all other detectors combined. I once dug a large cent right next to a rifle pit at a measured 14" in sandy soil. This was a place that has been pounded by 100's if not thousands of detectorists since before I started in 1973 and right out there in the open. The way the machine averages up on deep targets is unique and the target and tone ID are still unmatched to this day. What a credit to George Payne. I know the heyday of Analog is gone but this thing in a small package would be a dream. I still have 2 origial and one modified and will always have at least one.
