If I'm getting it right it is an application filed on August 13, 2007. Been in the works ever since. According to the last communication at the link below action is expected around February 2010.
A communication second hand from Dave denied this was a Pulse Devil patent application but a read of it sure sounds like it. And the timing is in line with when the Pulse Devil heated up in 2007.
Could it be there is a Pulse Devil and Dave is just waiting for the patent to clear? Maybe. I tend to suspect that it was easier to write the patent application than it was to actually make it work in the real world. The basic claim of the Pulse Devil/Nemesis that it can get ferrous/non-ferrous discrimination to full PI depths has yet to be demonstrated to anyone.
Items can go to market "patent pending" so I don't think the patent not yet beeing issued is a valid excuse for a delay. The real devil in this case was the details.
I think Dave is the real deal. It is unfortunate he made so many promises to so many people, none of which he ever delivered on. There may well have been valid excuses, but I remember when over two years ago the unit was supposedly done and all Dave was waiting on was handles! So there has to be more to it than that.
Assuming Dave has a concept that really works, I wish he'd just go to a major manufacturer and get it done.
