The Fisher F-2/F-4 DD Coil will work with the Classic III, You'll need to advance the disc up a notch so iron will continue to be discriminated and everything else above iron will still come in.
Wish I could help but finding parts to make these pigtails is a challenge, You're eventually find one on the internet if you can't make one.
