I haven't used one and haven't seen anything in the specs. that would lead me to believe it would offer any additional performance benefits for the type of hunting I do. Lot's of cool stuff to play with though I guess if you want it or think you need it. I like simplicity myself. The V3 like the XLT and DFX with it's countless adjustment options tends to create more confusion than any actual added performance in the hands of most weekend detectorists. Most people don't understand how changing certain adjustments might affect others so they end up being disappointed in the detectors performance. Even with more experience all those adjustments don't always equate to better performance and a lot of people spend more time tinkering and second guessing their settings than hunting. I don't hunt areas with lots of modern trash much anymore so I tend to dig anything that gives a good beep but for the type of hunting you described where you want to cherry pick for deeper older coins in areas with modern coins and trash the Whites 5900 SL/6000 SL and XL Pro are the best I've ever used. The analog meter was made for this type of hunting. In my ground on long buried coins silver almost always read higher than clad. When that needle pegs on or very near the "E" on dime you can bet it's most likely a silver dime. A silver quarter will peg on or near the "R". Combine that with the depth meter not just to check the targets depth but also the capability to use that needle to size the target and or separate targets very close together make it hard to beat.
