I looked at it seriously when it was released as I believe the real "sizzle" of the product was the Analyze Screens. It held out the hope that one would be able to wade into an Aluminum filled park and pick out the Gold Rings via the use of the aforementioned Analyze Screens. Did not happen!
The data simply cannot with any certainty predict what is or isn't Gold or Aluminum. So you end up with a detector with an evolved interface minus the evolved discrimination capability. If you can live without the interface then obviously there are a wide assortment of detectors that will match it's 22.5KHz sensitivity to gold at less than 1/3 the price. It's like dating a Super Model, awful pretty face, but conversationally challenged.
