Bob, I am out of town at present trying the V3 on the OBX of NC. I had been using the explorer for years prior to the V3 and had a love hate relationship with it, Loved performance, hated the weight and balance. If you have ever used an xlt, dfx, or MXT basicly the same. I will try and weigh it or get a weight for you but if you have ever used any of the above you can say it is the same. I personally like the ergonomics of White's machines, Minelab ergonomics are non existant except Xterra type which are nice. My eyesight is good close up but I use glasses for far away so can't help you there but will tell you it is by far the nicest display on the market. You can customize colors, reverse it which is the way it is set up for beach program and you can even zoom it. So if there is a detector made you could see the screen on it would be this one.
