that are like -2 and -4 especially in the thicker iron like nails and such.These new machines with the I'D. going negative can be a little misleading sometimes.Averaging on low non-ferrous items on the X-terra goes negative alot more than on some others.Not a bad thing you just need to remember if you see some upper negative bounces going barely positive and barely negative they need to be investigated.
Thats one of the reason I dont like tones and target I'D's.
If you do have tone I'd I like the way the MXT lets you set the break point of low tone-high tone.Factory set tones are dangerous if you rely on them for any kind of serious relic hunting.
as for the coils The 10.5" med freq is the way to go for depth.get the small DD in High freq for trash hunting.
