A few interesting readings...a food for thought...
Interesting reading
Now for a whole lot of THAT;
Thought we might place this to honor those two soldiers murdered in Iraq...
Here's the first..
"After the worst has happened,
with nothing left to bear,
the sun continues rising with undiminished cheer,
and winds continue blowing,
and skies continue fair,
and hearts continue bearing the things
they could not bear.
Under the wide and starry sky
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.
This be the verse you grave for me
Here he lies where he longed to be.
Home is the Sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.
It's the last verse of the epitaph
from Thomas' "Ellegy in a Country Church Yard".
Large was his bounty and his soul sincere.
Heaven did a recompence as largly sent.
He gave to misery, all he had, a tear.
And gained from heaven, T'was all he wished.
A friend.
Farewell and Semper Fi, until we meet again.
