PD- Both Norm and I had Wildwoods. Norm had the longneck and I had the Throupador. Its not even close to the Vega sound. I had the bracket band and the tubaphone tone ring and I really think the rim is too thick. Norm really had issues with the Longneck. I just bought a brand new Deering Vega longneck and I finally set it up to sound close to my original Vega Longneck. The originals sound so much better than the new Deering. The Deering are built better but the originals are the sound of the Trio. I never heard a Wyatt Longneck but they use original Tubaphone tonerings and I think that's the key. The original tonerings from the early Vega are built so much different from the Wildwoods or the Deering Vega's. When my new Deering arrived I was really disapointed in the sound. I put a different tail piece, drum and bridge to sound pretty close to my original Vega. As soon as my original gets a fret job done I'm switching back to it.
