First, to answer Rick's question: I picked the HD-28V because of the sound, looks and price (in that order)
Before I decided on the "V", I played both the HD-28 and the HD28-V quite extensively, and I had others play them for me in order to hear the sound from in front of the guitar rather than from the player's position, and the difference is quite significant, no question about it.
