I have had the opportunity, working in a music store, to play almost every kind of guitar there is (not seen an Olson yet). I have played literally hundreds of martins, goodalls, gibsons, taylors, collings, etc. etc. The best, hands down, was a Froggy Bottom Koa. But a word about Martin. I know it was the Trio guitar, but candidly, I have a problem with the new ones and I've owned several (D-18, D28, D-41, Tenor (best of the bunch), D-45). They are so varied in quality and sound as to make them a last choice for me. If I play 20 of them the sound will vary from pretty good to lousy, and I'm talking about D-18s and up, although they do look good. I know Taylor takes a lot of hits on this forum, but they are a consistently good guitar off the rack with little set-up. Can't say that for Martin, sorry, but I can't.
