Thanks for the welcome and also for the steadfast effort you and Norm put into making this forum interesting. I will try to continue posting when I feel I have something to say that might add value.
To me the fun in music is the diverse potential that if offers. To my ears music would become boring quickly if it could only be played on a mahogany bodied dread with a flat pick.
I have only recently re-acquainted myself with Martin. I had 3 successive bad experiences with Martin guitars in the 1970s and that soured me for some time. I am really pleased that now I can go into a Martin dealer and play just about anything in the store and like it. To me this makes the Martin-Taylor playing field level once again and we all win. I also agree with your and Norm's assertions that Bob Taylor's innovations have helped the entire industry produce quality consistent instruments. I for one am tickled that we have so many stringed instrument companies in the good old USA that are successful. Healthy competition breeds innovation, quality and diverse choice. This benfits the whole community. This is not only true for acoustic guitars but banjos as well.
