I know NOTHING about Hamer guitars, but I would suggest if she is interested in Les Pauls, check out Gretsch Duo Jets. The semi solid body design makes them lighter than a Les Paul and I personally think the Gretsch neck is more playable than the Gibson. Plus they tend to be cheaper as well.
