My open back was ordered direct from Gold Tone who factory installed spikes for me at frets 2,4,5,&7. They are in perfectly. It is a standard length banjo. I would rather capo on a banjo up then down and do not care much about the image that a long neck conveys to make me a folksinger. I don't wear vests or leather hats, either.
