Was playing around with different tunings on my HD-28. I'm not usually one for lots of strange tunings, but I wanted to see if I could find a guitar tuning to emulate what I play on my octave mandolin. What I came up with - from low to high- is D A D A A E. Obviously this creates quite the drone effect but that is what I was looking for and the chord forms are still simple. Tried it on a song I have been working on using the Bouzouki - the old Irish ballad Boolavogue - and this was the result. I think it sounds pretty cool, and the drone on the HD- just goes on forever!
