I went to a Doyle Dykes concert/workshop last night. Of course, he was in his capacity as a Taylor rep. He played his own signature model and then two or three of the many that the music store had for sale.
He then showed his new 12-string short scale guitar that he designed, and it had a beautiful Adirondak top. It's the first time that I've ever seen anyone finger-pick a 12-string and it was awesome. He is one fantastic finger-style guitarist....and he makes it look so easy.
Check his website and if he ever appears in your area, by all means, go and see him if you haven't already. You won't be sorry.
I've been playing 50 years and have 20 guitars (which now may all go up for sale after seeing him) and am very much in awe of his talent and abilities. It's beyond description; you just have to see it to believe it.
He's that good.
Bob.
