For the record, the saddle jig was worn causing the saddle slot to be routed in the wrong location. It's a much easier fix than a new fingerboard.
The 70's guitars get a bad rap, but they can be outstanding. Hard to judge a guitar by birth year or pedigree-best to use your ears.
