Yeah Brian, have to agree with you. I like the Eric Weisburg version much better. BTW, I once saw EW play the Deliverance at Fast Folk Cafe in the Village. It was actually a Tom Paxton concert where EW was backing up TP with guitar/banjo and vocals, but on this particular number it was the other way round. Not bad!
Those who may not know, Fast Folk was an organization that tried to revive folk music in NYC in the early 90's through subscriptions of their periodical publication and sales of new folk music recordings under the Fast Folk label, as well as donations, I suppose. Unfortunately, they didn't survive too long.
