After buying Deering Vega Longneck and being disappointed I bought a Goldtone OT-100 Longneck after playing a regular OT-100 in Rochester at Stuzmans. This is the REAL deal. Its sounds very close to my Original Vega and the quality is fantastic for a China made banjo. The only things I changed was the tail piece and the head. The pot is as thin as the old Vega's but about 2 inches deeper. Now I have a real good backup and I don't have to change any of my EQ's. Goldtone's have come a long way and it was a 1/4 of the price of the Deering.
