You said "The company who sold you your system does have that obligation."
I bought my NEC Electra system on Ebay and paid a local company to install and program it. They say I have no warranty, and want to charge me $150 each time I need service, or even to answer a simple programming question over the phone.
NEC or AbleComm should give me free tech support. I paid a lot for this system and deserve some respect.
