Expansion Card Installation: Help!

May be a stupid question, but here I go...
I bought a Polycom for our conference room. I also had to by an expansion card (analog). However, I do not know how to install it, other than just plugging it into the card's slot.
What else is there to hook up besides plugging in the card?
