you can designate an extension to transfer calls to an outside line. to set that line up from the main phone hit speaker 790. this will show a prompt 1-set; 0-cancel. hit the number 1, enter the extension to set up, then enter the number you wish to "transfer" them to. you will need to add the number 9 to access the outside line. you may want to warn the caller, b/c they will hear a dial tone as the call transfers. also the line you designate to transfer out will continuously blink. hope that helps & didnt confuse you
