It is somewhat difficult for me to write this message. Ultima Online has been a part of my life now for nearly five years. However, I feel more and more every day that my time with Ultima Online is coming to an end. Countless friends of mine have already come and gone, and it is something I no longer wish to see. But this alone is not the only reason for my leaving. Quite simply, Ultima Online has lost its appeal for me. I feel like the game has no meat to it anymore. Outside of interaction with friends, the game consists of -- Fight monsters, win loot! or -- Fight monsters, win fame! Or I could spend 100 more hours of my life trying to get my craftsman to gm. Anyway, my point is, outside of the time I spend with you, my friends, Ultima Online is just not enjoyable for me anymore. Monday night we will decide who OFK's new Grand Paladin will be, and Friday will be my last night as Grand Paladin. It is my hope that maybe some of my old friends who I haven't seen in a while might find it possible to come back out of the woodwork for this final evening. As they are released, I will be joining another game or two, in particular, City of Heroes, and Star Wars Galaxies. I encourage all of my friends to join me in one or both of these games so that we might fight, talk, and laugh in both of these worlds once again. It is hard to say goodbye, even Ultima Online itself seems like an old friend now, but as they say, all good things must come to an end.
