Posted by Joyce Dombroski Also, none of her 5 living children have a photo of her........supposedly, she never became a citizen here in the USA. She had 2 sisters, Mrs. Stella Matusavage and Mrs. Mitchell (Francis) Chichey from Hatfield and Northampton, Massachusetts.

I'm looking for any records of my grandmother, Josephine Gronski(immigrated from Poland possibly thru Ellis Island about 1912) marrying my grandfather, John M. Dombroski(immigrated from Poland). Possibly, the marriage took place somewhere near Old Forge "or" in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania (after they met each other thru a family from Swoyersville, Pennsylvania). I need the entire date of marriage and where---name of church, if any. (I understand from one of the living children they possibly married about 1914)
They settled in Luzerne, Pennsylvania after having nine children, Alice, Frank, Alex, Bertha, John, Edna, Chester, Edward and Thomas and two grandchildren.
(Their first-born, Alice, was born about 1915).
Also, I would need to find out my grandmother's month and day of her birth (only the year 1895 is listed on her tombstone). My grandmother died at home on May 31, 1937 after a short illnes at the age of 42 when my father, the youngest of the nine children, was about 2 year old. None of her remaining 5 living children know what the illness was! Funeral mass was from St. Hedwig's Polish Catholic Church in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania.
I am also looking for a photo of my grandmother, Josephine Dombroski from 1912 on.......and family members tell me they doubt that there was a passport photo taken on the ship to Ellis Island, but no one knows for sure.
Thank you!
