Carlisle family of Fayette Co.

Trying to find pre-1790 records to find Daniel Carlisle/Carlile from Scotland. Already found him in 1790 Population Survey but have hit a brick wall in the Colonial Records department.
Any advice would be welcome..in 1790 he lived in Dunbar Township, Fayette Co. Pa.
I know that Dunbar was formed from Franklin Township about 1783. Other than that..nothing.
