I am looking for some imformation about Joseph Hughes and Mary Dempster Hughes my gggrandparents.
Mary Dempster came from Ireland with her parents Alexander and Eliza Dempster and other siblings from Belfast . Ireland and arrived in America in 1847 at Philadelphia.
Mary was 24.
Joseph Hughes I don't know when he arrived or if he came alone or with parents. He and Mary must have married in America in Penn. because their first child Alexander was born in Washington. West Bethlehem, Penn . in 1850 and their second child Henry born in Penn. in 1853.
When Alexander was 5 about 1855, the family moved from Penn. to Ohio where Isabella was born in 1857.
The rest of the children where born in Iowa.l
I am trying to find out more about Joseph and where in Penn . he or his family landed and where in Ireland he and Mary came from.
