My gr g'parents, Dennis Griffin & Catherine Spring Griffin, and son, Michael(b. 1862), immigrated to the US in 1863 from Ireland. Their 2nd child was born in PA in 1867(location in PA unknown). Two Spring families: John Spring/ Ann Sullivan Spring and Patrick Spring/ Johanna Spring followed the same path from Ireland and both of these families also had a child born in PA in the same timeframe.
By 1870 all three families had moved to Cortland County, NY.
My Griffins could possibly be related to a James Griffin family found on 1860 Elk County, PA Census.
Question..Was a State/County Census conducted in PA between 1864 and 1869? Any information greatly appreciated. Tks. very much, Carolyn
