Sence he is getting that much formula a day i would for a week feed him once in the morning and once in the evening for a week then down to one a day. I also forgot to tell you that when you cut back on the feeding there will be some weight lose and he will feel lighter. That is normal for them to lose some weight. If he is loseing weight and seems lifeless then incress to 3 feedings a day and then in a week try again tell he is eating on his own.
