MING MING IS A BOY-confirmed by vet today :( HELP

I took Ming and Pulse in for their yearly exams today and got the news (98% sure) that Ming Ming is a boy,

Dr. K explained about the cere on white birds and the pigment in them.He said Ming Ming's has darkened since last year into a more violet hue.

I see Ming evryday but I don' t notice, you know?

My point of this post is I am so SAD

I've been about ready to cry since I got the news a couple of hours ago, I feel like I've lost my little girl

This is going to be impossible to get over, I need some help here....please...

Senorita the lovebird ...

Senorita is the prettiest and most people-friendly lovebird i can imagine. When i brought her home a few years ago, i was amazed at how gorgeous her tail feathers are when she fanned them out for me ...
like a senorita's beautiful skirt!

Senorita was most happy when i was around, but i got her another lovebird as a companion (a pied green lovebird) called Speckles ... not nearly as sweet a lovebird and i was sure this is because Speckles is a BOY !

Well, a couple weeks later the lovebirds did
'the dance' and whatta shock ...
Senorita is the BOY and Speckles is the girl !!!
Senorita is now Senor Birdie,
and no matter how often they do 'the dance',
Speckles only lays infertile eggs !

Hoo boy, Tammy ...

I bet THAT was a shock. I remember that when I first brought Lulu home from the SPCA, they told me that she was a female. She was only a year and half and we all know that except for DNA testing, there's no way for sure to tell (until the tell-tale eggs). It's possible that she had layed with the family that gave her up so that's how they knew. Anyway, I didn't know for sure what Lulu was. I got her in April 2003 and she didn't lay until October of that year. So by her behavior I swore she was a male. And I didn't want a male. It was all psychological but it was affecting my attitude (not negatively in any way). Hard to explain. When I knew for sure she was female, I related differently to her than when I thought she was a male. So I understand a little, Tammy. This will be quite an adjustment.

I know this is a shock but remember, this is still your BABY! I know when Paulie laid an egg earlier this year I was totally shocked! After all, all day he/she says "Pretty Boy!".

Boy or girl, they deserve our love.

Ming Ming is going to keep his name,

that is not necessarily a female name.

It's just so hard to think of Ming as a boy, I don't love him any less , BELIEVE ME

It's just such a shock and adjustment, it is going to take me a while. I still call him my little girl sometimes and that feels strange and if I say little boy that feels strange.

everyone and I do mean everyone on tiel talk was convinced she was a boy cause she talks..then poof eggs.....dont be sad tammy....Ming Ming is still yours..and loved and loves you

Not according to Sam, LOL. She still calls herself "bad baby boy".
