I'm sure by now that anyone that watches the news has seen the horrendous happenings at Ft. Hood in central Texas!
I am far enough away that I've not felt any direct repercussions, but close enough to feel the Earth shake when they are on their Military maneuvers when practicing attacks involving bombs.
Please pray for the families of the lost loved ones and the wounded survivors. These military personnel were at the Soldier's Medical Processing Center being processed to deploy to Afghanistan. And if that wasn't bad enough for them and their families....some shot down on home soil.
The shooter (alleged) is at the hospital that my dd works at (Scott & White). I am so thankful she isn't scheduled to work tonight. She pulled her last 12 hour shift last night so she is being spared the difficulty of having to work on someone that has committed such a dispicable act against our fighting brave! I am so thankful...the hospital is on lock down right now for fear of retaliation against him.
Brittany is pretty shaken...she was at Ft. Hood last week for clinicals, a required assignment in order to earn her B.S.N. The military is always looking to recruit R.N.'s. She has been glued to the news stations this evening and just absolutely ...for lack of a better word...freaked out over this horrific tragedy!
I'm so sad for the families involved. Ft. Hood is the largest military installation in the world. It encompasses almost 340 miles. Who would have thought that one of our own would turn against his brothers and sisters in Arms?
Please, just pray for some kind of relief for the wounded and the fallen and all their families.
