Greetings, Fellow Readers!
I started a new, to me, Janet Evanovich book called, Three to Get Deadly. It's a step back in time, but I don't mind reading them in whatever order I happen to be able to get them in.
In this book, Stephanie is supposed to go after FTA (Failure to Appear...in court after being bonded out by her boss and cousin, Vinnie.) Mo, known where she lives as, Uncle Mo, by everyone, so beloved is he. Stephanie didn't want the case, fearing she'd be hated by the public at large for chasing him down. And, sure enough, no matter who she speaks with, the standard answer is, "Uncle Mo would never do anything wrong."
Uncle Mo owns a local candy shop that people have been going to since 1958, and a new officer arrested him for an infraction after pulling him over in traffic. Now, Uncle Mo has disappeared. The candy store is even closed, which is unheard of.
It's a mystery, and it will be interesting to see who has done what, and why!
How has your reading week been?
