I had Berber in the main living area before the flooding and was very pleased with it as far as traffic wear. Even after 17 years, the 'old' carpet was still in good shape....sans some stains caused by Reagan.
So, I went with the Berber again. This time, I went with the same carpet throughout all the rooms that had to have carpet replaced. I went with tile for the bathrooms and the entry and hall.
I've always admired hardwood floors with a beautiful area rug, but cannot fathom the care that it takes to keep them looking like that. I'm all for a house looking good, but let's face it....country living...dogs...kids...a swimming pool in the summer...tons of leaves in the Fall and winter? No way am I going to spend that much time and effort on floors. Does that make me sound lazy? LOL
