It seems like it's taken forever to finish unpacking those boxes. I've been so picky about what gets to stay and what has to go and where it's going. So many different destinations. Some boxes to Goodwill or the resale shop for our Family Abuse center, some boxes to be kept are packed away in one of the barns.
Then there are boxes that are going to the burn pile (old statements, bank records and such). And finally, boxes of things/stuff that should have been taken away by kids as they ventured out into the world on their own. Kids...it's time to truly leave home.
Come get your stuff!
I found things that belonged to my step-mom that my step-brother should have so those were packed away and hopefully I will mail them off to him this coming week.
It's been very trying and there have been quite a few happenings that would side-track me. These days, that's not hard to do.....any excuse to hide from that dreaded task of filtering through years of accumulation. If you've never come across a box of old pictures you had forgotten about..well, you get the picture. I sat one entire day going through a couple of picture albums from my parents house and 2 boxes of photos I hadn't seen in a few years. They somehow got overlooked during the time that I put all of my photos in picture albums.
MaKenzie's passing is at the top of the list. That has been such a sad time for us. dd, Tiffany, went to see MaKenzie's mom yesterday and Wendy is renting a storage unit and wants Tiff and Clint (dsil) to help her move all of MaKenzie's furniture, clothes and toys into the unit. All of this has to be done hush-hush behind Wendy's Mom's back because Fran (my ex's current wife) would throw a fit and that decision should be ultimately left up to Wendy. She's been through enough and simply cannot bring herself to sort through and give those things away. So, here's hoping they can pull that off without any repercussions that would cause a fracture in the family's ties. Nobody needs that right now.
For the past few days, I think all of us have been glued to the TV over the shootings at Ft. Hood. We won't go into that...I'm tired of even thinking about it. Thank goodness they transferred the shooter out of the hospital where dd works. He is now in a hospital in San Antonio. The security is better there. Scott & White is huge and I can see how they were worried about keeping the public away from him.
And...my youngest ds, Brandon, has some woman stalking him. They met at a benefit ride and she's decided she wants to be with him and the feelings are not mutual and she's been relentless. Brooklyn and I both have been getting crazy messages in our inboxes at MySpace. The girl doesn't realize who we are..his niece and Mom, so she has taken it on herself to threaten us and cry to us and then threaten us again. INSANITY!!! ds filed a complaint with the police department and come to find out, she's done this before. The most damaging voice mail she left on ds's cell phone..she threatened to shoot him if he kept refusing her calls. One of the detectives contacted her and told her if she didn't stop, they would issue a warrant for her arrest.
For one day, he had peace and then last night..it started all over again...calling all through the night and continuous texting. He won't answer the phone if it's her, so she put friends up to calling him from their phones...and he couldn't tell who was calling from the numbers displayed. She's crying one minute and then threatening the next. This girl is severly damaged. ds refuses to get his cell phone number changed because he's had it for 13 years and...he's as stubborn as I am. So, Come Monday, this girl will probably end up in jail and I'm not so sure if that will end it. I'm hoping it doesn't push her to the brink of harming him. She doesn't know where he lives , thank goodness. She has her friends calling him and begging him to go see about her. UGH...what else can I say but...UGH
I'm worried.
Other than all of that.....it's been a fairly decent week.HAHAHAHA
Our weather has been mild and I'm enjoying that. Mid 70's during the day and the upper 40's/lower 50's at night. The girlie dogs are enjoying it too. Even Tippi is staying out longer since the temps have cooled down. Hopefully, next week we can get started on my new raised beds for next year's veggie garden.
There..that's pretty much it for me.
Now...how are you doing today? You mentioned your health and I don't recall reading anything this past week about you feeling ill. I hope it's nothing seriuos. And..I hope you get your computer issues resolved. That's enough to run anybody crazy.
