This breeze was quite strong and I closed my eyes for a quick blink, when I opened them again pollen was floating off every tree I could see, even the Oaks were involved.
It was a massive cloud of pollen. I thought it was dirt but our road is tarmac. All the drives are roadbase full of stones and rocks. Never during the highest winds have I seen anything like this cloud.
It took me only a moment to recognize the action of was pollen like, not dirt like. Charlie and I were enveloped even being in the middle of the yard.
It seems to me that when I saw the pollen yesterday, it didn't fall to the ground, so much as drift onto other trees. I had a "Ah Ha" moment.
Finally I turned to walk the path along the back fence towards the back door.
The sight I saw was phenomenal. The whole back and side areas of the yard were filled with streaming rays of light through the pollen cloud that had been blown off the trees in all the yards around me. It was beautiful. A memory I hope to never forget.
If there is any more pollen left on any of these trees, I would be surprised.
What a glorious early morning moment.
