I've not read any of the newer Scarpetta's, so had no idea how she was aging as a character. Maybe she's aging along with Cornwell, who is in her very early 60's, I believe.
Hmmm, I wonder if anyone has every tracked how the books of women authors change before, during, and after menopause? I suppose that you could write your way through menopause by killing off people in your books! ;-) Then, the books might mellow as you get through it!
