We managed to catch some sleep as it was raining and any thunder and lightening was high up in the clouds. Until 5am then the lightening started crashing, lights flickering, and Charlie hiding his nose under the blanket. I quick unplugged laptop, phone etc. But the Fiber had already died.
This 2nd show has trned out to be just as volatile as the first. The thunder was crashing overhead. And lightening was so bright it felt likit was hitting my yard.
Some of my plugin clocks are messed up as is the Microwave. My fiber also was off for a while, it came on a while ago. But thankfully I have those Xmas battery candles that allow me to walk the house and still be able to find my way.
This storm was just as vicious as the first. I didn't look windows so I only heard loud booms and flashes of lightening that were right over head. Charlie buried his head deeper.
Did I mention the wind was 50 mph here. I am really hoing no limbs are down. I had storm proofed the yard again but forgot a trash can out back that I hadn't emptied the contents into the larger one. Hummm.hopefully nothing was able to float through my fence... as all the water runs towards my back back yard.
Both neighbors homes across the street are lit up like a carnival. I hope that doesn't mean they have problems.
I just received a text that verifies my K order wil arrive between 7 and 8 am. Good to know.
I just got off the phne with Boy and I can tell he still hasn't received the full blast of the storm. SA had lots of flooding after the last storm.
I knew Mother Nature would end the drought eventually, but did she have to hit us with a double barrel set of storms?
Thank goodness I live on a hill. All the water and what ever was in it... kept on going out the lowest corner of my yard. It's fenced so anything big might still be there. I will check it out later. Sunrise is 7am. Though I should be able to see the mess but can't due to the clouds.
Yesterday I was out with Charlie before 7am. Not today. It is dark as pitch outside and its 6:45am.
Thank goodness I scatter small battery operated (Xmas) candles throughout the house. It's a long rectangle at 1000 ft. When the llights go out during at night or during a storm well.. I need to be able to see where the cats are so I don't ripon them or Charlie.. who is still asleep in my bed. 8-)
I forgot to mention that the house got so cold I had to turn the wall heaters and the floor heaters in the living room and my bedroom on. Burrr!
Ok Charlie needs to go out so I best get dressed and will feed the birds & squirrels later, There were less hummers at the feeders yesterday after the first storm. I hope they all make it back here. 50 mph winds are nothing to sneeze at.
If there isn't anything to report once the sun is up... I may try to make up some of the sleep I didn't get last night.
Ta Ta...
