Also, my feeling is that most brassicas that people don't care for, such as broccoli, brussels, cauliflower, etc. are because they grew up eating over-cooked, boiled, versions. I have found that lighter cooking, in oil in a pan to get them brown but not over-cooked, is the way to go.
Eggs, well, it's hard to get around them if you don't like them much. I've struggled for years with eggs. But, you can plan more stuff than eggs, such as a Western omelet. Get some onions and peppers, a little ham, voila! Cook the veges well, and cook the eggs well. To better incorporate eggs with vegetables and, in this case, ham, skip the omelet, and make it more of a scramble. More 'stuff' than eggs if you like...which sounds like how mine are made! :-)
As a kid, I didn't love carrots. My mother actually didn't make them, but for 3 exceptions. Then, when we grew them here, they were very different. Small, sweet, good. I like the carrots cooked in pot roast that taste like meat and get glazed, I've never minded them in soup, and of course, truly candied they are another animal. I've never pulled them out of pot pies, or Chinese food, either. I guess that, growing up, I just didn't want steamed or boiled carrots.
Hopefully, you can find some use for a couple of these.
Yes, there are a lot of uses for sweet corn.
Strawberries are good sources of vitamin C and manganese and also a pretty good amount of folate, and potassium. They also have antioxidants, and lesser amounts of other nutrients. In other words...they are good for you. :-)
Those berries are also good for you. I used to eat blueberries year-round, pretty much daily. But, like other fresh berries, the prices skyrocketed. The containers are quite small, too. Blackberry jam is one of my top favorites.
This is a big pear area, or was until a few years ago. I think of fresh pears, and canned pears, as two different animals, but like both. A couple of years ago, a woman who owns a business in town was giving away pears from her tree. I got some, and made pears in syrup with a touch of ginger. They were amazingly good. I was sorry when they were gone!
Yes, I've seen those covers and wallets. Scary that that's even a danger!
Have a wonderful day!
