It's an odd storm. The wind comes and goes. Bits of a storm roil to the south. Another bit is gather itself together in the north.
It's freaky to say the least. And feels weird and the sound of the ligtening is tinged with what seems like electrical sparks one gets from rubbing a cat. Their fur causes sparks of electricity. Very odd. But the sparks in these clouds are intense and feel dangerous. It has not rained yet!
Still a rumble can be heard over the hill. A profile of a mans face is visible amid the dark clouds as bits of dark gray and white mingle and turn into cloud art.
I had to move my wagon where I have the two trash cans that I will put out in the morning for pickup. Still it is not raining.
There is a coolness now as the humidity has faded away. No wind, just a slight stirring of leaves on the Redtip bushes and the outer leaves of the trees.
All the sky is clothed in white, light grey and dark grey clouds, but still no rain!
The weather map for this county shows a huge swath of cloud cover from West to East. Lightening has been detected 2.5 miles away. Yet the jagged lightening strikes are all around here. Dark green patches of rain with orange spots of heavy rain ae scattered like a hanful of leaves tossed across the land. The green patches of rain are near but not on what would be my neighbors homes circling mine.
A new alert just said lightening 1.7 miles from here. It seems the paches of rain have split into three larger areas with another one sitting over the area where my kids live. They were to bring stuff up tome but the heat has been hard on Boy as they were loading huge boxes on the trailer to take them to Houston in a few days.
Aw while typing the lightening near me is closer but not loud enough to hear it seems. Ah all the lightening strikes have disappeared from the weather map.
It was just updated and the area west of us now reaches into Mexicowith our swath still seperate spots of rain now reaches Houston near where my grand kids live. PLus that swath now is disconnected puddles of rain and lightening that is flowing across the Gulf of Mexico and speading north into Florida and GA.
Checking my area there are new lightening strikes west of here, around here and flowing into SA and Mexico.
I think I will keep an eye on the storm here and see what happens as it crawls across the lower US.
Still no rain. But the leaves on my bushes and trees look like they are dying.
The only good thing is the coolness is mingled with some humility again. Still nicer then this morning. There were a lot of cars speeding up and down my hill. That has eased off some what. Luckily it's Sunday. The thing is I don't see any rain on the cars.
Ok that's enough weather reporting for now. Be safe where ever you are.
