We had a cooler week, by and large, with one day being especially pleasant, but by Friday the temperatures were going up again. Our hottest day will be tomorrow, then it will remain moderately hot for the rest of the week, and we'll have wind for a few days.
There was a great deal at the warehouse the other days...chicken at $4. off per pound. Ds and I both made some to try it (It's a brand that we know.), and we were both happy with it. I'm not sure if there will be anymore before the sale ends on Tuesday. I'd like to be able to make some meals from it.
Someone spotted some baby mink at the river. It's rare that you actually see them, though they are there.
This week we for sure saw some baby hummingbirdss, which makes sense, since this is about the time last year when we had babies at the feeder. Very cute.
I've been working hard on writing this week, whenever I couldn't be online, and I feel as though I'm making progress with a couple of my projects.
We had our interview with the people from last year that paid us to speak with them for about 1/2 hr. - 45 mins. They want to know statistics and application rates of various nutrients, etc. But, this time, it was about a piece of technology. We actually had to sign that we wouldn't discuss it with anyone, so I can't, but will say that it's cool. Now, to wait for the check to arrive!
We've decided that we will use it to go to the buffalo ranch and buy some meat for the freezer. I'm eating too little red meat, and will feel better when I can integrate more back into my diet. This will do that without touching my budget.
This week, the dogs have been learning to eat treats muzzle to muzzle. All of my dogs have, and we've been moving toward this. Mostly it's working. There's definitely no arguing/fighting over food, but there is some *thieving* by a certain junior wolf.
Being that he's top dog, he sees no reason that he can't have his, and hers. When they are training, he doesn't do that. I made it clear that whoever I give it to gets it. But, with this, he has different feelings on the matter.
There were treats on the floor (read that as accidentally dropped treats.), and he figured out that he could *lay* on his, then lean over and take hers. Sheesh. So, we've been working on that. It's going well so far.
The pumpkins are getting big. Thyri has already claimed hers, lol!
My projects this weekend include obscuring another batch of medication bottles' labels, so they can by recycled, and using a telescoping microfiber duster to reach the ceiling. Rather, that's Dh's job. I wouldn't be able to reach this ceiling no matter how telescoping the duster is!
I'd also like to make some chicken stew, and fried rice with my chicken. Plus a batch of the lemon meringue pudding. With the eggs being laid, it seems like the right time, and I do love lemon desserts.
Well, that's about all from this neck of the woods, how was your week?
