There was a big discussion recently on whether people preferred sweet or savory snacks.
Thinking about it, I think that I'd go for savory if pushed. I love my sweets, especially chocolate, but I don't want the sweets alone.
I'm the type that wants my cheese crackers, little eggrolls, potato chips, cashews, or whatever a savory snack might be, and *then* have some ice cream, a cookie, etc. afterwards. Eating just sweets makes me long for something that's not sweet, as well.
For sweets, I might have a cookie, a brownie, blueberries if they're good or blueberry hand pie, ice cream, pudding, cocoa, or pie...such as a piece of lemon meringue or chocolate pie. Or, like on our anniversary, a big spoonful of Toonie Moonie!
When I could eat more fruits, I liked mangos, plums, and so forth, as well.
To me, anything savory makes a good savory snack - as I said, eggrolls, leftover - and reheated - pizza, crackers, potato chips, cheese with crackers or other base, a piece of garlic toast, really anything from a bowl/mug of soup to a barbecued chicken leg makes a good snack for me. If I could have cream cheese, I would eat that on toasted or untoasted bread. Plain, or with any number of toppings from deli olives to shallots.
How about you?
