Thank you so much for this information. I will read it, probably a couple of times, to familiarize myself with it.
I recognize some of the behaviors mentioned from the girl that I mentioned. She did not communicate verbally at all, did not make eye contact, etc. And, I know that I've mentioned this before, but when I turned my back on what used to be called the 'Handicapped Class," to pick something up, she attacked the 100% unsighted girl. When I whipped back around she had her on the ground. That was a bit traumatizing for me, as the girl who couldn't see was someone that I worked with daily, and the other girl was quite a bit larger than both of us.
I know of a therapist in Ukiah that works with children on the spectrum with a horseback program, using horses as a way to connect with them. I love that idea.
