It turns out the "neighbors" were still home and had let the puppies out in their back yard. So they began barking at Charlie then he weent for my canvas fence.... I ended up - no running on my part but walking or rather limping .... after him.
He runs very fast so I had no chance to stop him with the squirt gun. Or step in his way. 15 minutes of trying to stop him.... he finally slowed down and I was able to direct him to the front yard after "THEY" put the puppies away in their yard... and Charlie finaly gave up.
I am furious and will no longer have any contact with them. Their rules are lies. I am the one who should follow theirs. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
They assume I am home and not doing anything all day. That I let Charlie out all the time with no problem. What a crock! I will not comment on what I am thinking. I want nothing more to do with them.
I can not let Charlie run loose, I have tried and tried.... I have taken his kennel and made it in to a enclosure where I sit and toss his ball into the air. I ask him to lie down ocassionally which he does. Then we go inside. That is not exercise.
I am thnking of opening the kennel panels and running them from one side of my yard to the other at the point where the back steps start. That would give him a larger area to run.
I will ask Boy to come over and help me set it up and secure it to my chain link fence and the other end to the back yard side of the back steps. I am sick of them and their rules. Done! Done! DONE!
Sorry to complain but both Charlie and I are both limping from the unwanted exercise.
