Whew, talk about changes in the weather! It went back to the high 90's over the weekend and on and off through the week - some days were 60'e, while we had freezing temps some nights, and it's been foggy most mornings. One night it was 28 - truly miserable temperature for me, which meant that the temperature dropped 70 degrees from day to night. Tonight, however, I'm loving it being in the 50's.
There are chances of rain to guaranteed rain all weekend and next week, except for Thursday.
It's been quite a week with Krypto's problem, our batteries, and Ds having an infection that he's on antibiotics for. Oh, and I learned that my Drs., for that last umpteen years, 'forgot' to mention to me that my pills cause sharp random increases in blood sugar. So I'm having to devise a way to eat with those pills that will minimize the jumps. Some hours I'm low, then high. I wish that someone would have said something before now. Apparently, diabetics have so much trouble with these meds, that if they are on them short term even, they sometimes need to increase their diabetes meds from 2-10 x's. So, not a small thing.
I'm, of course, still worried about Krypto. His stools are maybe a little better, but not great, but the blood comes after he goes to the bathroom every time. Our vet is not open for now, but said to give it through the weekend, since Hira had something similar, though that was a while ago, and sans blood. If there's not a real positive change by Monday, we have to go to the other vet. So, we wait.
There was an email to parents that Ds got, from Thyri's school. Apparently, 2 children in her class were dx'd with RSV. But, she only goes one day a week, and they may not have been communicable yet. So far, so good.
She had fun on Halloween. They took her only to homes of family, and a couple of friends, plus the fire dept. She had plenty of sweets, it turns out, so I gave her sheets of stickers, instead.
I watched a non-scary TCM movie, in B&W, from the 30's or 40's for Halloween, lol!
Since I was offline so much, I did a lot of writing and paperwork this week.
With the sun moving for fall, I now have a circle of light coming in the kitchen door's window when it turns orange for sunset. Very pretty.
We can only watch a little T.V. with the battery issue, so we chose carefully. My trivia, of course and an interesting History Channel show on the Vikings. They studied the Iclandic Sagas and what they really know of them. This coming week, the new season of some of my usual History Channel shows begin. I hope that I'll be able to tape them.
Oh yes, and while I don't watch all of the holiday baking shows each year, I do watch the Christmas Cookie Challenge. And, it's starting now. I don't know why it's my favorite, but I do enjoy watching it.
Meanwhile, we had a pack of either dogs or coyotes last Saturday night before dawn, barking and barking and barking down on the road. If they were coyotes, they didn't howl or sound much like them, but if they were dogs, where were they from? It's probably not a coincidence that it was a full moon that night. Krypto barked at them, and even howled a couple of times, which he didn't with what I know to have been coyotes. Even Hira, who doesn't bark at dogs/coyotes, made a sort of pre-bark sound a couple of times. She's never heard Krypto howl before.
On Friday, we were awakened by a noise that sounded like someone hitting our trash trailer with a stick - it's metal. Dh went right out, and there was the largest raven that he's ever seen, perched on the top of a fence post. He didn't even move, and Dh wished that he'd had a camera with him.
Well, that's about all from this neck of the woods. How was your week?
