Answer: Born in 1913 as Leslie Lynch King Jr., the future President of the United States was the only child of Dorothy Gardner and Leslie Lynch King Sr. Only sixteen days after the birth of their son, Gardner and King separated. Following their divorce, his mother married Gerald Rudolff Ford, a salesman for a paint and varnish company. Though never formally adopted, her young son was referred to as Gerald Rudolff Ford Jr. from then on; the name change was formalized in 1935. In 1974, following the resignation of President Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford was sworn in as the 38th President of the United States.

The Hoover Dam stands as an engineering marvel nestled in the heart of the American Southwest, spanning the majestic Colorado River. This iconic structure spans the Arizona-Nevada border, about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas. Its strategic placement on the Colorado River plays a pivotal role in harnessing the river's powerful flow to generate electricity and provide water for irrigation, urban consumption, and recreation. Hoover Dam generates enough hydroelectric power to serve 1.3 million people each year. It is named in honor of President Herbert Hoover, who played a crucial role in its creation.
