....right in the beginning for everyone. But I have complete faith that things will just suddenly begin to turn around.
Dogs are so amazing when it comes even to what people consider radical surgeries. They don't 2nd guess their recovery, they don't take nearly as long as most humans to get back to their activities, they don't worry about all the what-if's, and they seem, as a whole, to accept their new lot very well.
Zack's problem was totally different, of course, but he had a lot of pain from the surgeries for his internal injuries, aside from instantly becoming paraplegic, and the beginning was rough, and hard on us to watch him suffer with the kind of pain that he was in.
That, of course, went away as the healing process went forward, and from then on he was unstoppable. But the beginning is still clear in my mind, and that included pottying, as you said, having to find a way to carry him in the beginning which didn't cause pain or disturb his surgery sites etc.
It gets better, but geez Louise it's hard to watch them suffer in the beginning! I'm really glad you have the weekend to be there with her, and am praying for a fast, and complete healing, so that you two can move on. (((Hug!)))
Thank you for the update!
